Well, the Roland Garros French Open is down to the men’s finals. Yesterday, Justine Henin def Ana Ivanovic (6-1 6-2) in 2 sets. Today, Rafael Nadal from Spain will defend his Roland Garros title against the number 1 ranked Roger Federer. The only question now, will Roger Federer finally win the French Open, or will it elude him yet again. History has proven that Rafael Nadal dominates all challengers on clay surfaces, and he defeated Roger Federer last year in the finals. Federer did just defeat Nadal, on clay, at the Hamburg Masters Classic on May 20 of this year. That gives Federer the confidence to know that Nadal can be beaten on clay, but he still needs to defeat the Spaniard at this one tournament.
Many believe that Nadal will take the French Open yet again. Some believe he will take it in straight sets. Nadal has won all 20 of his career matches at Roland Garros, and he is 33-0 in best-of-five matches on clay. Luckily for Nadal, all the pressure is on Federer. If he wins the French Open, he is half way to holding all four grand slam trophies at one time. He has already won the Australian Open, and he is favored to win at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. That means if Federer can take the French Open today, and manage to pull off wins in Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, he will be the first player in tennis history to hold all four grand slam trophies in the same year.
If Andy Roddick has not made it into the finals, then I guess I would like to see Federer take the French Open championship. Federer is a respectable guy, and player, has been ranked No. 1 in the world since February 2, 2004, and has managed to have the French Open slip away from his fingers in the finals once before. Good luck to Roger Federer today, and make sure to check out the results of the tournament at the Roland Garros French Open website.

The fact that people actually still pay attention to Roland Garros now that Agassi and Sampras are not playing is kind of amazing. lol
Federer is going to top Sampras for most Grand Slam titles in a few years. I think he is by far the most dominant player to ever play the game….it’s just too bad he can’t get past that friggin Spaniard on clay, lol.
